About Pascal Telaar

As a dedicated Process Engineer specializing in Stack Development, I’m actively shaping the future of sustainable energy through innovative work in green hydrogen and electrolysis technologies. My role encompasses the optimization of electrochemical processes and in-depth material investigations to ensure durability, performance, and scalability of key components. With hands-on experience in material analysis, process design, and system integration, I bridge the gap between R&D and industrial application—driving the development of next-generation hydrogen solutions that are both technically robust and economically viable. Prior to my current role, I pursued a PhD and later worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of Industrial Chemistry at Ruhr University Bochum (RUB), contributing to the BMBF-funded project Carbon2Chem. Within subproject L-4, my research focused on the kinetics of heterogeneously catalyzed CO hydrogenation to higher alcohols and olefins under high-pressure conditions. This work was carried out in close collaboration with industry and academic partners. As part of my doctoral research, I developed a novel class of cobalt-based catalysts for higher alcohol synthesis. These catalysts were systematically modified and thoroughly characterized using a combination of ex situ and in situ techniques, enabling insight into structural transformations and their impact on the complex reaction network under operating conditions. I’m passionate about engineering that makes a difference—combining scientific rigor with real-world impact—and fully committed to shaping the new era of clean energy through smart, sustainable process innovation.
