About Pat Howard

Responsible for the management and oversight of the staff, showroom, buying, and merchandising at Sklar Furnishings, Pat embodies the heart and soul of the Sklar brand. When she and her husband Rick launched the showroom in 2002, they needed to invent a new model to deliver value to clients. Sklar Furnishings was not purely retail-based, nor was it exclusively design-focused, but instead, brought forward the best of both worlds by developing an exclusive hybrid model. Instead of buying the furnishings that fill the showroom to sell, Rick and Pat purchased them to curate a lifestyle brand with a visually stunning showroom for the design trade and for the clients which helps them visualize what their homes could look like. Sklar Furnishings had to be about more than just retail. It had to become a thread of the fabric of the community, and as such, places a tremendous amount of focus on community initiatives, and giving back wherever they can. Pat’s ethos is: “give time or money to those in need or less fortunate and when the opportunity is right, give both” – powerful words that not only permeate through the culture of Sklar, but that is driven forward each day by Pat and Rick. In 2017, to celebrate Sklar’s 15th anniversary, Pat led the commitment to sponsor 15 charities for 15 months. It was a momentous effort and that the entire team was proud to participate in.
