About Pat Soukup
I was born and raised in Yerington Nevada graduating from Yerington High School in 1983. I attended and graduated from the University of Nevada in Reno from 1984 to 1989 earning a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. I returned to Lyon County to work for the Sheriff's Office in the fall of 1989. I worked primarily in the Patrol Division working through the ranks of Deputy, Sergeant, Lieutenant and Captain. Also during the time prior to becoming Captain, I held every position within the Lyon County Sheriff's Employees' Association which represents the regular sworn employees in matters such as contract negotiations, working conditions, and discipline processes as well as fund raising and community support activities. I have served upon various boards during my time as a Captain with the Sheriff's Office. By the end of 2014, I will have served Lyon County for almost 26 years and intend to retire from law enforcement to pursue other more relaxing career opportunities.
