About Pat Traffas

Patricia A. “Pat” Traffas graduated from Fort Hays State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in General Science. FHSU chose Pat to represent them at the St. Francis Hospital School of Cytotechnology the following year. She has been a registered Cytotechnologist with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists since 1974. In the Fall of Pat matriculated into Mortuary Science at Kansas City Kansas Community College and graduated in May Since that time she has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer in the states of Kansas and Missouri. She has held positions of management while employed for Service Corporation International in the Kansas City area and been fortunate to form long-lasting relationships with families she has been privileged to serve, as well as the admiration and trust of co-workers. Always anxious to lend a helping hand, Pat has taken numerous leadership positions in the community. She has served as a Board Member for Downtown Overland Park Partnership, President of Trails Head Chapter and currently as National Secretary for the Oregon-California Trails Association. She is Vice President of Kansas City Area Historic Trails Association, Research Committee member for the Santa Fe Trails Association, and Board Member of the Missouri-Kansas River Bend Chapter of the Lewis and Clark Foundation. Professionally, Pat is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association and the Kansas Funeral Directors Association where she serves on the Legislative Committee. She was appointed to the International Conference for Funeral Service Examining Boards in 2006 and continues to serve that elite group in numerous capacities. Pat accepted the opportunity in August 2014 to continue to serve the families of the area with The Signature Group at the Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, KS.
