I am a seasoned Reliability and Maintenance Engineer, equipped with a B.Sc. in Engineering and, MEng in Energy Technology, and a proud member of the Institution of Engineers Australia. With a decade of expertise in the power generation industry and mining, I am a results-driven professional known for my initiative, positive attitude, self-motivation, and strong teamwork skills. I possess the ability to adapt quickly and fast-track learning. In my current role as a Reliability and Maintenance Engineer (Consultant) at Deloitte, I have been engaged in a variety of projects, including OPF FMECA and Reliability Support. This project involved the identification and analysis of the most problematic systems/equipment, where regular maintenance regimes proved insufficient in addressing unplanned downtime. My responsibilities included preparing Functional Block Diagrams (FBD), conducting Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), and implementing strategies for improved efficiency and cost savings for equipment such as Apron Feeders, Cone Crusher, Gyratory Crusher, Wet and Dry Screen and High-Pressure Grinding Roller (HPGR). During my tenure as a Reliability Engineer (4/3 days-only roster, FIFO) at Murrin Murrin Operations (MMO), a Nickel and Cobalt producer owned by Glencore, I successfully led multiple initiatives. These initiatives included FMECA for various equipment (Settlers, Agitators and mixers, Bucket Elevators, Tube Chain Conveyor, and Nickel Sintering Furnace), failure analysis of critical components, and the reliability review of key systems. My experience as a Shift Charge Engineer at Sojitz Kelanitissa has provided me with a comprehensive understanding of combined cycle power plant operations. Managing the Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, Boiler, Water Treatment Plant, and other critical systems, I led major inspections and implemented performance improvement projects. Noteworthy accomplishments include a significant reduction in the hot start-up time of the power plant and the successful modification of plant logic for a single push-button start-up. My comprehensive skill set extends to proficiency in computer systems such as Microsoft Office and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including TOMMS and Oracle. I am experienced in working with control systems like Mark V Speedtronic, Distributed Control System (DCS), and Pro-Control. My ability to analyze large datasets and present findings, coupled with my strong communication skills in English, Tamil, and Sinhalese, positions me as a versatile and effective team player.
