About Patric Andersson

Hi there! I have some 30 years of experience and extensive knowledge from academic research and teaching. As a researcher with a Ph.D. from Stockholm School of Economics (SSE), I have initiated and completed many studies of economic behavior, judgment and decision-making under risk and uncertainty, attitudes, and perceptions. The studies have empirically addressed questions like:*How do loan officers with varying experience make credit decisions?*How good are forecasts by experts in finance and sports?*What are the fallacies in making probability assessments?*How can decision-making be improved?*How are financial analysts affected by information?*How do the public perceive nudging and other policy tools? Applying theories from economic psychology, the studies have been based on data from surveys and experiments (using Qualtrics). The data have been statistically analyzed (using SPSS or R). Besides being presented at conferences, the studies have been reported in journal articles and book chapters. Once I organized symposia around the economics and psychology of football, described in the anthology "Myths and facts about football: The economics and psychology of the greatest sports". As a teacher at SSE, I have been responsible for, taught, implemented, and developed many courses on topics like decision-making by human and algorithms, financial psychology, research methodology, and marketing. Besides examining theses, I have tutored 95 BSc / MSc theses, i.e. given qualified advice on literature, method, survey design, data collection, analyses, and writing. As a docent in business administration, I supervised Ph.D. students, all of whom successfully defended their dissertations. I also have been an expert reviewer of doctoral dissertations and manuscripts for scientific journals and book publishers. As a curiosity, I am knowledgeable about the history of golf and have taken the initiative to create and to organize golf competitions, where clubs from the past are used (Stig-Helmer Competition, Bro-Bålsta Hickory Open). For the competitions, I write reports and create marketing materials.
