About Patricia e Durner

Patricia E. Durner (Patty) graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Masters of Education with a Community Counseling Emphasis. She is licensed in the State of Nebraska as a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP). She is also licensed in the State of North Dakota as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She is a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and an Online Distance Credentialed Counselor (DCC). She is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist through International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP). She was trained under the direction of Dr. Patrick Carnes. She worked at The Meadows in Arizona working in extended care for sexual recovery, facilitating individual and group therapy for sex addiction. While at the Meadows she received continuing education from professionals, such as, Claudia Black, Dr. Peter Levine, and Pia Melody. Patty is also EMDR Certified (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) through EMDRIA (EMDR International Association). Much of the work she does with EMDR is trauma work, however, she is also trained using EMDR – Feeling State Addiction Protocol (FSAP) which focuses on compulsive/addictive behaviors, such as, substance (drugs, alcohol, tobacco) and behavioral addictions). She also uses EMDR Recent Trauma Protocol (R-TEP) for recent traumas. She worked at the University of Nebraska at Kearney counseling with students, including International Students. She also facilitated a support group for International Students. Her title at the university was Personal Counselor, Associate Director for Counseling Care, and Associate Director for the Women’s Center. She traveled to Lithuania and completed coursework for her Master’s Degree. Patty participated in a Professional Exchange Program in which she traveled to China as part of a 1+2+1 Program for Chinese students. She is currently working in a Community Heath Center and in her Private Practice.
