About Patricia Severance
As long as I can remember, I’ve always enjoyed learning. Whether that’s researching topics I find interesting, building and troubleshooting computers, diving head first into Linux systems, or learning circuit design; I have always enjoyed learning new concepts and applying that knowledge. After working in kitchens and other customer service positions for years, I felt that I needed a change of pace so I decided to enroll in the Backend Engineering program at Turing School of Software and Design. My time in customer service taught me how to efficiently work as a team by communicating effectively in stressful fast paced environments, all while keeping my head cool. As a software developer, the skills I learned in the restaurant industry as well as my passion for learning will propel me forward in my career as I learn new technologies and work with a team to deliver a quality product. When I'm not writing code, I spend my time listening to music, playing the drums, toying with synthesizers, learning blacksmithing, and fabricating various things with my 3D printers.
