About Patrick Auger

Patrick Auger has been in EMS for the last 30 years primarily working within the Ontario Air Ambulance (Ornge Transport Medicine. He has been certified as a Critical Care Paramedic for 25 years and spent over a decade involved in EMS education in both advanced care and critical care paramedic programs. He has worked with base hospitals, community colleges and EMS services to enhance their Advanced Life Support programs. Patrick supervised the Toronto Base of Air Ambulance Operations and later took on the position of Director of Clinical Services for Canadian Helicopters EMS where he was responsible for all training and development within the organization. Patrick has been a member in Ontario’s Emergency Medical Assistance team from its inception, and is currently the Incident Commander. He was initially tasked with developing and coordinating the delivery of EMAT’s basic education. He later developed EMAT’s “Emergency Response Team”. A smaller component, of EMAT responsible for advanced deployment and cold zone CBRN. As part of his involvement with EMAT he is also a Hospital CBRN instructor with experience teaching at the specialist level. Patrick’s education includes a Bachelor of Health Science, a Masters Degree in Emergency Management and a Masters Degree in Medical Education. He also holds instructors certifications in Advanced Hazmat Life Support, National Disaster Life Support Programs, Campus and Community Emergency Response Teams and Hospital CBRN Preparedness Train the Trainer.
