About Patrick Bates

I am an outgoing, sociable 26-year-old AUT graduate with a Bachelor of Business degree majoring in marketing and minoring in sport management. I am currently working for The New Zealand Food Network as a Marketing and Communications Specialist since August of 2022. Before my current role I have worked at AF Drinks for 13 months, a start-up focusing on non-alcoholic beverages, assisting in the management of marketing, brand, product, distribution, customer experience and helping scale the business from local to nation-wide placement. Previously, I had experience in customer experience for New Zealand’s largest food delivery service, My Food Bag where I was involved in the growth of their network and improving customer satisfaction. Prior to this, I spent time working with the Sky Sport Breakers as a Marketing Intern, actively observing and engaging in the day-to-day marketing operations of one of New Zealand’s largest sports teams and helping them grow a stronger profile in New Zealand’s fastest growing sport across social media and other channels. I am an ambitious, social, outgoing and diligent worker who has a passion for social enterprise. My view is that business can be used for doing good and making a difference for people, and I want to use my skills, experience and passion for seeing this positive change happen. This has always drawn me to businesses with similar perspectives.
