About Patrick Blaszyk

Currently, I am a Planner 1 for the City of Monroe. In my previous role, I was the Planning Technician for the Town of Stallings. In this job I interacted with residents and contractors on a daily basis, created all maps using GIS for the Town, processed all permits, conducted all final zoning compliance inspections, assisted with code enforcement issues, presented to Planning Board and Town Council. I also was a staff liaison to the Historical Committee. I attained my Master’s degree in Geography with a concentration in Planning through the 4+1 accelerated admissions program. I also was a Graduate Assistant for the 2021-2022 academic school year. During the Summer of 2021, I held an internship position with the Town of Indian Trail. Here I assisted the planning staff with the day-today operations that occur in the department. This included organizing physical surveys from a mass file, assisting residents and clients over the phone, email or in-person with zoning or planning questions. I also assisted the planning staff with new residential development and creating maps in GIS.
