About Patrick Boets
Patrick Boets was born in Duffel, Belgium on January 8, 1963. He studied civil engineering (electronics) at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) where he graduated in 1986 and received a Ph.D. degree from the same university in 1997. In 1987 he joined the department ELEC of the VUB as an assistant and later on as a Ph.D. assistant. At ELEC he has carried out research in the field of modelling of access network cables, data transmission, parameter estimation and computer controlled measurement systems. In January, 2008 he joined the DSL expert team of Alcatel-Lucent in Antwerp where he was involved in Single-ended line testing (SELT) and DSL cable measurements. In January 2016 he became an employee of Nokia. Currently, he is active as a physical layer consultant and involved with emerging copper access technologies in the fixed network division of Nokia.
