About Patrick Bortz

Therapy: As a clinician, I take a collaborative, human approach to therapy. I specialize in working with couples and families to improve communication, resolve conflict, increase warmth, and foster authenticity. My clinical experience has included working with diverse families and individuals (e.g, adoptive and blended families, LGBTQIA+ folx, immigrants and refugees) to address issues with varying levels of severity, complexity, and comorbidity including, but not limited to, trauma and PTSD, bipolar disorders, homelessness, domestic and intimate partner violence, discernment and separation counseling, parenting, sex and intimacy, and infidelity. Research: My current research interests include compelling family processes, family and parental attachment, family differentiation, parenting, positive youth development, gender fluidity, consensual non-monogamy, and diverse family structures.
