Background
About Patrick Cornelissen
Seasoned Information Technology Specialist, don't ask which seasoning they used, jokes aside, I am proficient in IT, but more importantly I am dependable. Some people might be strong IT professionals but it is no good when they don't show up. You can read the rest of my history below if you'd like, but it can get long winded so I don't blame you or wouldn't hold it against you if you'd like to stop reading here, I won't hold you to it. I am a very hard working and honest individual, and I have been fortunate enough to be well versed in the Information Technology and service industry. My IT history is an interesting one. I was first introduced to the IT field in 2016 with a co-op internship opportunity between Year Up and AOL. I was an intern for Enterprise Services which later became a Global Service Desk. Being a former intern on a Global Service Desk, I love to serve and put people first and provide first class service with the client in mind. With that in mind, having been a part of, and having worked alongside, a first class service desk, I have been instilled with being client focused and catering to the specific needs and desires of the client. Thus making for a very personalized experience by putting individual needs before the comfort or ease of the support being provided. When it comes to getting the job done, I'm very dependable, in fact so much so that my greatest strength has become my unparalleled dependability. As far as my track record goes, I have never had an unexcused absent day of work. One of the most important lessons I've learned in the line of support is to always have a better understanding of what's being said as opposed to believing what should be said. This in itself has taught me to never be too assumptive and never jump the gun too early without the complete understanding of any given scenario. I was also of course a part of a program called Year Up which was able to align me with my internship. Year Up has designed its training curriculum to enable entry and succession in a variety of role pathways. These pathways reflect the variety of entry-level roles that Year Up interns and alumni are equipped to fill. Onsite support roles in which the intern is responding to user needs in person. Interns troubleshoot both hardware and software issues. Like desktop support roles, for example, there is a focus on customer service and an emphasis on de-escalation through many mediums such as resolving technical issues involving or revolving around hardware and software.
