Bioanalytical chemist experienced in project management, technical writing, problem solving, and a broad range of disciplines, stemming from over five years of work in a pre-clinical contract research organization. I thrive in challenging environments and enjoy projects/endeavors that allow me to expand my knowledge. I hold a PhD in bioanalytical chemistry, which focused on the application of confocal Raman microscopy to the tracking of cell penetrating peptides in mammalian cells. My doctoral studies allowed me to develop a strong background in scientific writing, which included professional journal articles, lecture materials for students, and the summary of abstract chemical concepts for group presentations. It has also granted me proficiency in several analytical techniques, including Raman spectroscopy, RP-HPLC, UV/Vis spectroscopy, mass spectrometry and optical microscopy. I have teaching experience as a former National Science Foundation Graduate Fellow, and as a laboratory instructor and lecturer in several undergraduate chemistry courses. Skilled in Raman spectroscopy and microscopy, I have applied the techniques to a range of systems including live and fixed cell mapping, cellular uptake studies, mechanism elucidation, peptide aggregation dynamics and characterizations, trace analyte detection and the spectral mapping of implantable polymers.
