I’ve always viewed teaching as less about telling my students how to do something and more about showing them how to accomplish their goals. I like it best when we are discovering something new together, and while I acknowledge that this isn’t a daily occurrence I cherish those days when it does occur. I believe that students learn best when things go wrong and will always challenge my students to tell me what they think has happened or why they think something has failed rather than telling them my opinion. The world is a very complicated place and if I am able to instill my students with the ability to critically examine any topic or problem that they may encounter than I have prepared them for success in our modern society.
