Hello, I'm a digital news editor and reporter, with a love for news curation and mission-oriented work.These days, I'm passionate about bringing important issues and complicated stories, such as public health and accountability in politics, to audiences in digital formats that are contextually approachable.I'm currently a homepage editor at the Washington bureau of The National, where I update and configure multiple regional editions—with an editorial eye on data analytics and informing readers.In the last few years, I've extensively reported on the COVID-19 pandemic and other health crises, while curating reports on news events ranging from business to politics and US-Middle East foreign policy developments. I've managed live blogs on the January 6 insurrection, the Afghanistan withdrawal, US elections, and the pandemic.As a deaf individual with a cochlear implant, I've spoken about accessibility in media, journalism, and physical spaces. In 2020, my brother and I launched AccessibleMasks.org, an online resource to have the masked world be accessible. Before my current role, I updated homepages with the latest news developments around the global economy at Quartz. I edited newsletters, sent push alerts, deployed new site and app features, and helped build its online community. In addition, I wrote about migration, conflict, human rights issues, and accessibility in depth. I had a part in launching a national daytime TV show—Daily Blast Live—for TEGNA. I multitasked in managing social media, live streams, breaking news, and community efforts for the show, airing five hours of live TV each week day.I've been published in USA TODAY, where I worked as a news producer, as well as The Atlantic, CNN, and elsewhere.
