About Patrick del Guidice

As a veteran, senior officer in the Australian Defence Force (ADF), I have extensive experience, training and education resultant from almost 37 years in the Canadian Forces (12yrs) and ADF (< 25yrs). My responsibilities have spanned telecommunications and space-based capabilities such as satellite-communications (SATCOM), Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT), space operations and contributions to Defence space governance. I also understand the importance of the electromagnetic spectrum to space-based capabilities, and I have directly influenced actions to preserve Australian orbital filings in coordination with the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) and in accordance with International Telecommunications Union (ITU) regulations. I am a team player with exceptional interpersonal skills and place high value on diversity and equity. Accordingly, I have been very successful at cultivating and maintaining relationships within Defence, Whole-of-Government (WoG), international partners and industry. Entrusted with representative roles, I spent five years of my Australian career working in the United States (US) and my second job in the US was in SATCOM and space operations. I have worked thoroughly with representatives from the US, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Denmark, Norway, Czech Republic and NATO. I always keep a strategic focus as well as organisational and government objectives at the forefront of my thinking. I am highly motivated to contribute to Australia’s growth in space and consider the evolution of a space industry, advancement of national space policy and investment in STEM for space workforce development to be imperative in this regard.
