About Patrick Dolan

I’ve always loved building things, especially with other people. As the projects grew in complexity so did the tools needed to realize them, and teaching myself those new tools and technologies is one of the most satisfying things in the world. In recent years, programming has been at the forefront of those tools and was the motivation for me to enroll in Tech Elevator’s Java Full Stack Web Development program. Since graduating I’ve only increased the number and scope of those projects. Currently I’m working on a Loop Switcher, game development in Unity, and building several websites! Now I am looking to apply that passion as well as my experience as a Food Scientist to a career in software development. During my time as a Food Scientist, I’ve developed expertise and conducted research in coffee and chocolate. I spent my career wearing many hats but principally as a product developer, taking products from ideation to store shelves. There are many steps in that process and I've learned so much from each of them, from setting up a multimillion-dollar chocolate manufacturing facility to discussion panels and sensory testing to ensure products and recipes will succeed in the market. In all these cases I had to teach myself, manage projects, lead teams, and use both scientific and creative thinking.
