About Patrick Duddy

Born and Raised in the Building industry with boots on the ground straight from HS working with my tools for my father's Drywall firm that included the all suite run up. At the age of 26 my father asked me to break off from his union side due to a wild cat strike that almost destroyed what he built from the ground up. I opened Pacific Wallboard and completed roughly units of residential homes and Apartments. During our peak we operated in the western US and employed over 500 men for several years until my wife and I sold out our interest to our employees in1996. I then left California Moving to Mexico to work on the Karmina Palace for my father that took 3 years. Two months before opening the property the lobby caught fire and we rebuilt over 2m in fire damage in 2 months to open on schedule working our team 3 shifts 24/7. Amazing accomplishment After the opening I left to partner with Signature Drywall for 3 years as the estimator launching the commercial hotel side where we completed over one billion in Apartments, Luxury Resort Hotels and several large commercial projects. After the downturn in 2008 I accepted a job with a large Japanese General Contractor to build the Ala Wai Garden Plaza Apts in Waikiki and the KAHALA Hotel Lagoon Tower owned by Chuck Sweany. I than moved to the Big Island to build my personal residence before opening Star Homes LLC where Dima and I built two 14M Custom homes for a couple of high wealth families including 5 spec homes that we sold. My wife and I decided to stop working right before the pandemic and traveled the world with my two boys in tow. In Jan of last year I met a gentleman who is redeveloping Uncle Billies and went to work to complete the Precon costing that has morphed into his project costing assistant with emphasis to help price out his vision on the Hawaiian redevelopment on the down town Kona to bring back the life of the structures with out changing there original design that Uncle Bill wanted and so the streets of Kona Alii Drive will come back to life as a great mans dream with myself helping him to lead the way.
