About Patrick Federl

European companies need support and political backing to achieve diversified, sustainable and resilient supply chains. I assist such companies in my role as Senior Advisor Import Promotion by connecting different stakeholders from politics, business associations and embassies with the Import Promotion Desk – an initiative for import promotion by the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development. My background in Chinese and International Politics with several years of work experience in the German Embassy and German Chamber of Commerce in Beijing made me realize how important the geopolitical environment is for international business. At the same time, I have always put a strong professional and academic focus on development cooperation – particularly on the role of trade and foreign investment for development. This is what led me to professionally concentrate on foreign trade promotion with a strong emphasis on sustainability and diversification.
