About Patrick Ford

My aviation career began at Western Michigan University, where I earned a Bachelor Degree of Aviation Flight Science while subsequently completing my Private, Instrument, and Commercial pilot licenses. After completing my Certified Flight Instructor certification, I taught students at American Flyers Flight Academy and ADF Airways in south Florida for the next three years. In 2014, I was offered a position as First Officer at IFL Group flying the Convair 580, where I would upgrade to Captain and accumulate great experience flying cargo to Mexico, Central America and many islands in the Caribbean. Three years later in September of 2017, I began employment at Atlas Air on my first jet-powered aircraft, the Boeing 767. I accrued three years of experience transporting cargo for Amazon and DHL domestically. In addition to domestic operations, I also worked with the American Mobility Command, transporting American Military troops from the United States abroad to Spain, Germany, Japan and the Middle East. January of 2021 was arguably the greatest milestone thus far in my career, in which I was employed by my dream airline, FedEx Express. I currently operate the Boeing - one of the largest and most efficient transport-category aircraft - to destinations spanning the entire globe. At FedEx Express, we were instrumental in transporting cargo both domestically and internationally during the Covid-19 pandemic when supply chains were adversely affected. I look forward to continuing my education as a professional aviator and to expand my knowledge in the fields of business and entrepreneurship.
