Retired from EMS, but making a return on a per diem level after a 3 year break, over 25 years in Fire (volunteer) and career EMS, 18 years as a Career Paramedic. I am a Registered Respiratory Therapist, looking to move forward in the field of Respiratory Therapy. My latest achievements have been working in the field of Travel Respiratory Care, centering on Covid 19 patients. I was "on the trail" for 2 years before coming home, and remained Covid Negative. Masks and proper PPE WORK! I have always lived by a few concrete mantras. When you are green you will grow, when you are ripe you will rot. Always be open to new learning, because it will never stop. When it does, so do you. Treat every patient like they are a family member, because they are for somebody. Experience is what you acquire the split second after you truly needed to have it in the first place. I love the life that I have made for myself, and even at the age of 53, I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up, although I am looking towards the challenges in the field of Respiratory Therapy.
