Background

About Patrick Harris

A lifetime spent in the outdoors sparked interest in biology at an early age that, over the years, has grown into a passion for conservation. My formal education focused on wildlife conservation, habitat restoration and community level dynamics. My uniquely diverse set of professional experiences range from wetland and stream delineation, personnel recruitment and training, bio-control of invasive species, developing corporate marketing strategies, rare plant surveys, SOP development and implementation, and environmental permitting. I have done everything from publishing papers to plunging toilets, and through these varied experiences I have developed specialized technical and scientific skills as well as skills to comfortably navigate, understand and lead diverse groups of people and interests. I am stubbornly curious and am always seeking to apply prior experiences in places and ways where I can hone my current knowledge and develop new skills.
