About Patrick Hastings

With over 12 years of senior leadership experience in the infrastructure industry, I am the Chief Impact Officer at the Infrastructure Sustainability Council (ISC), the peak industry body for advancing sustainability outcomes in infrastructure. In my previous role as the Chief Delivery and Capability Officer at ISC, I led the development and delivery of the IS Rating Scheme, a globally recognised framework for assessing and rewarding sustainability performance in infrastructure projects. I also oversaw the capability development of the members and the broader sector, through training, assurance, and digital solutions. I managed a diverse and high-performing team of technical, project, training, and digital experts, and delivered impact and value for over 400 individual projects with a collective capex of $309 billion across Australia and New Zealand. I am passionate about solving complex problems and creating value for multiple stakeholders, through collaboration, innovation, and strategic communication. I have a strong track record of developing and maintaining effective partnerships with government, industry, academia, and civil society, and driving business growth and sustainability outcomes. My mission is to advance the sustainability agenda and to empower and enable individuals and organisations to deliver broader impact. I have a keen interest and expertise in futures thinking and scenario planning, and how they can inform and inspire sustainable and resilient infrastructure solutions.
