About Patrick Hoornaert

Getting computers to work for your Business has kept me awake ever since I set foot on the university campus in 1989. While studying at the VUB (Free University of Brussels), I supplied and installed networks, servers, workstations and peripherals. This early Customer exposure led me to running a 3 people IT service company in London. High-end technology and management consulting missions started upon my return to Belgium thanks to Capgemini, where I became methodological in analysing and designing solutions, affecting customer services, business intelligence, collaboration, knowledge and document management. Mostly these designs involved bespoke development, portals, workflow and data warehouses in heterogonous landscapes, with Microsoft technologies at their core. Continuing on project basis with Atos Origin, TOBIUS and now Gate-16, I added a series of purely business oriented missions, related to Activity Based Costing, Project and Portfolio Management, Business Process Optimization with BPMN, Balanced Scorecards and Software Quality Metrics. Equally important became focus on Application Lifecycle Management. My active involvement during the early project phases brought me up to speed with a variety of enterprise architectures, in order to fulfil integration at process, application and infrastructure level. My ambition is to incessantly drive improvement in a Customer’s organisation by aligning people, process and tools. My personal attitude is to adequately define and control time, quality, scope and budget, while leaving ample room for discussion, creativity and adaptation to evolving circumstances.
