Practice involves global reach of legal issues impacting youth, students and their families in the school house, court house and the community. For three decades and counting I have focused my legal practice on cases involving youth - children, teens, young adults and their families in the school, home and the community. Our firm holds a wealth of experience and strong concentration in school related issues of special and regular education; juvenile justice and adult defense of youth and adults in MD & WDC. Lengthy experience advocating for clients in Adult District and Circuit Courts, Juvenile Courts with appearances in numerous and wide ranging cases across jurisdictions. Child and Education Advocacy coupled with knowledgeable legal representation of and about youth. Appearances in most courts and nearly every public/private school system within Maryland; Maryland Circuit Courts state/district wide legal advocacy in both Juvenile and Adult disputes in both the greater D.C. Metropolitan region, and in many other places throughout the State of Maryland. Seasoned, effective legal defense and representation before various administrative offices and agncies in both MD and DC. Adoption, guardianship, custody, school and community out-of-home private or public placements, services and accomidations for students, Pre-K through graduation at primary, secondary, college and post graduate levels; acceptance, dismissal and probationary status with school conduct and academic hearings; licensure and professional board certification, civil and juvenile rights of free speech and assembly, residency and transfers, all disciplinary matters from suspension through expulsion and necessary appeals; arrest and police involvement, legal representation and the right to counsel.
