PERSONAL PROFILE-PUBLIC HEALTH SPECIALIST A Multi-skilled Public Health expert and social scientist with 21 years experience in the implementation of public health and clinical interventions related to HIV prevention and health systems strengthening. Patrick is a holder of Master of Public Health Degree (MPH) and Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of Zambia. Further, Patrick obtained Diploma in clinical Medicine as well as certificate in Global Human Resources for Health (HRH). As Deputy Director at Healthy Learners (HL) Patrick currently oversees the Expansion of the School Health programme in Zambia, with focus on supporting the Government of the Republic of Zambia through two key line ministries of Education(MOE) and Health (MOH)to improve the health of students, reduce illness related absenteeism and promote learning. As a Programme Expansion Manager, his role entails ensuring all program growth and expansion related interventions throughout the country are well coordinated and assures seamless transition into the phase of sustainability of the school health programme. Previously worked as Project Manager under the USAID SUNTA, a nutrition project aimed at reducing stunting in the Northern province of Zambia, Patrick coordinated all activities around Water and Sanitation, Agriculture and Livelihoods as well as Health and Nutrition. He has also previously worked as Health systems specialist for the USAID's Systems For Better Health (SBH) project under Abt-Associates and oversaw the work of 3 USAID sub-Granted NGOs in the province having obtained expertise in the USAID Grant making process that included appraisal,selection as well as monitoring and supervision of the sub-funded NGOS. Patrick has worked for various other USAID and PEPFAR funded NGOs and agencies that include the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC),the Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia(CIDRZ) and Corridors of Hope (COH ).He has held several key decision making and leadership positions within these leading organisations which placements have enabled him apply his leadership and decision making skills and extensive experience in provision of both therapeutic and preventive HIV services. As Provincial Program Manager at CIDRZ,Patrick coordinated PMTCT and ART PROJECTS. He successfully managed HIV positive pregnant mothers, HIV exposed babies and children. He is a highly skilled trainer and mentor. Patrick has acquired professional expertise and skills in HIV programming, design and implementation.
