Background
About Patrick Lagasca
Welcome to my profile I am a hydrogeologist and PhD student at the University of Guelph’s Morwick G360 Groundwater Research Institute, where my work focuses on discrete fracture network (DFN) modelling. I use drone‑acquired imagery and high‑resolution field datasets to build and calibrate models that improve our understanding of fractured rock groundwater systems. Before starting my doctorate, I spent four years in consulting, specializing in groundwater modelling and contaminated site assessment, including a year of fieldwork in groundwater sampling and drilling. I hold a Master’s in Geoscience (Hydrogeology & Geophysics), where my research focused on groundwater and free‑phase gas transport at a cold‑water geyser — processes I imaged using environmental geophysics. I’m passionate about turning rigorous science into practical, real‑world solutions. I thrive in collaborative environments, enjoy mentoring others, and value clear, well‑organized workflows that make complex information easy to understand and apply. If you would like to get in touch, you can always email me at patrickalagasca@gmail.com!
