About Patrick Lama

Throughout my time at The University of Florida, I have been able to succeed in the classroom as well as engage in my passions through campus involvement. As an Engineering Student, I wanted to prepare myself and others for what we may not learn in the classroom. As a result, I Co-Founded and served as the Vice President of Real World Engineering. With over 100 members, Real World Engineering gives UF students hands-on experience along with the skills to communicate and work as a team in a professional setting. Our teams are currently working on designing and constructing a solar powered drone that can be used for a variety of purposes such as natural disaster land surveying. I have also served as President and Director of Philanthropy for the Florida Chapter of The Delta Chi Fraternity. These experiences have been invaluable to me as they allowed me to hone my leadership skills through weekly executive and chapter meetings. I have also learned how to manage the business and logistics that are required to run a large organization. Finally, I have been able to pursue my interests in Student Government. I had first hand experience working as an Ambassador for the Spring 2023 Gator Party Campaign. Additionally, I will be serving as the Out of State Cabinet Director for the 2023-2024 Academic Year. Student Government has shown me that all students have a voice and the opportunity to make a lasting change at their University.
