An experienced senior academic leader with a track record of success and delivering change and measurable improvement, with particular experience in developing high quality digital learning across international settings and productive interdisciplinary research teams. I am a Professor of Psychology with research expertise in developmental psychology, particularly educational, cognitive and social development. I also have interests in positive youth development and psychological aspects of productive art-science (interdisciplinary) collaboration and co-organised the 2017 Arts in Mind Festival I was Editor British Journal of Developmental Psychology (2013-2018) and chair the British Psychological Society's Editorial Advisory Board (2019-). I am a Fellow of the British Psychological Society and Higher Education Academy, and held a British Academy Senior Fellowship (2008). I am coauthor of the leading international text book Developmental Psychology (McGraw Hill).I am Honorary Professor, and previously Pro Vice Chancellor at University of Waikato, New Zealand leading the Division of Arts, Law, Psychology and Social Sciences. Previously, I was Professor of Psychology and Dean of Education, Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN), Kings College London, serving also as interim Executive Dean. Prior to that I was Professor of Psychology, Associate Dean for Science and Head of Department at Royal Holloway, University of London as well as roles at Goldsmiths College London and the University of Cambridge.
