About Patrick MacRi

A passion for financial markets and natural resources: I studied and worked as a mining engineer before transitioning into finance. I began my career with Redpath, an international mining contractor. During my time, I gained experience as an engineer and operator in underground metalliferous operations including Cannington (S32), Olympic Dam (BHP), and Hera (Aurelia). After several years in the minerals industry, I moved to National Australia Bank (NAB). At NAB, I joined the client management and execution team (CME) focused on Resources, Infrastructure, and Government (RIG). In this team, I developed skills in new deal processes, portfolio management, and stakeholder engagement. Following CME, I rotated to Markets as a Foreign Exchange Derivatives Trader. In the trading role I worked across G10 and Emerging markets FX books, developing a deep understanding of market dynamics and value-add fundamentals. My current role is within the Leveraged and Acquisition Finance team. Here, I work agnostically across all sectors pertaining to Private Equity deals, including LBOs, restructures, and dividend recapitalizations.
