About Patrick Maingard

After a career of 40 years in the financial and real estate industry Patrick decided it was time to share his business knowledge, experience and know-how derived from an impressive career. Patrick is an astute businessman, family man and outdoor enthusiast. Born into a French-speaking Mauritian family, Patrick moved to Durban with his parents in the mid-60s. It was here that he completed his schooling (having traded French for English) and began his career as an accountant – following in his father's footsteps. Patrick spent 25 years with NBS, during which time he was able to gain valuable experience in financial planning, mortgage finance and in 1997 was appointed Regional Manager Western and Easter Cape for NBS Bank. In 2002 he joined Pam Golding Properties and was appointed MD of Pam Golding Franchise Services (PGFS). Under his leadership, PGFS experienced an unprecedented growth from 60 to 210 franchises across South Africa and beyond its borders. But Patrick's life, he insists, isn't just a case of all work and no play. On any given free day you'll catch him on his bike, paddling out to sea or playing tennis. He's active and healthy and refreshingly spiritually minded with a deep found respect for all those who cross his path. Perhaps it is his Christian background, or simply his ability to celebrate people's differences and appreciate their individuality. Patrick is also a devoted husband and father to wife Bronwyn and two sons Steven and Michael. In March 2009 he acquired the Pam Golding Properties Hout Bay and Llandudno franchise. In 2018 Patrick resold the business to Pam Golding Properties and started My Chair Management Consultant and Mentor group.
