About Patrick McGill

I have been fortunate enough to explore many fields of work. From working offshore on oil rigs to traveling across the US working on the railways, I have been fortunate enough to gain a perspective most usually do not. I have earned certifications as a level II in Non Destructive Testing methods including Visual, Magnetic, Radiographic, and Ultrasonic. Additionally, I have acquired a vast amount of knowledge and experience in warehousing, working up to the level of supervisor in most cases. I achieved this over time learning skills which include operating a wide range of forklifts, overhead cranes of all sizes, up and down rigging, loading/unloading flatbed and long/short box trucks as well as on/off loading of HAZMAT chemical transporting rigs, quality assurance, shipping/receiving, cycle counting, the handling of non-conforming materials and RMA's, safe house keeping practices, and have experienced firsthand various work management systems for inventory upkeep and data entry to the extent I trained co-workers to have the ability to do the same. I have better than average skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and recently earned a certification for the completion of Google's IT Support Professional course, offered by Google Career Certificates. I have always liked computers and learning about their seemingly endless usefulness. I consider them a hobby in many different aspects. I am now single father and my priorities have shifted from my wants and needs to those of my daughter, and the desire to afford her the best possible chance for a life full of opportunity that I can provide. As such, I am currently seeking to change my career trajectory from warehousing to the field of Information Technology.
