About Patrick Mucka

Scientist with a comprehensive educational and research background focusing on biochemistry, pharmacology, and molecular biology with my hands in basic research but my eyes on the clinic. I love working in diverse teams and have had the privilege to do so at top institutions in the US and internationally for my doctorate in Berlin, Germany. Across these experiences, I have established my ability to produce in a variety of team compositions and funding situations with a strong publication record in diverse fields, with a focus on cancer biology. I recently successfully defended my doctoral thesis "Identification of CLK2 and CLK4 as novel regulators of DNA damage-induced NF-κB activity by chemical dissection" at FU-Berlin and now seeking career opportunities! During my academic journey, I have: Used preclinical drugs in several contexts to prove novel therapeutic concepts and investigate mechanisms of action in vitro and in vivo, leading to successful drug target identification Worked in interdisciplinary teams, effectively communicating and coordinating with team members of varying educational and cultural backgrounds. Presented at large international conferences as a selected speaker to audiences including both academic and industry scientists.
