About Patrick Mwanza

As a cybersecurity analyst and expert, I facilitate seamless business growth and protect business assets by identifying security vulnerabilities, preventing security threats, and designing and implementing enterprise-wide cybersecurity programs. I also institute technical support functions; develop incident detection and prevention systems, and lead multidisciplinary security teams by leveraging my expertise in web, mobile, IoT, cloud, and network security. I maintain up-to-date systems and implement security controls by leveraging an extensive professional and educational background in cybersecurity. For instance, I developed a 24-hour response plan to minimize the damage caused by cyberattacks to organizations. I suggested optimal practices to preserve business assets, manage human resources, and reduce recovery time and expenses. I also designed an effective phishing attack study by streamlining team communication, workflow, and file sharing using digital resources. Most recently, at Chi Franciscan Hospital, I provided cybersecurity, troubleshooting, and technical support to end-users. This included augmenting the IT security landscape by installing and upgrading PC equipment and software and reconfiguring operating systems. Furthermore, at Community Health Care, I implemented physical and cybersecurity controls and improved remote device troubleshooting at 5 offices. Selected Accomplishments- Furthered institution of anti-spyware, software patches, and intrusion detection and prevention systems- Detailed optimal controls to protect business assets, escalate risk, preserve evidence, and identify the root cause- Secured devices by instituting access systems, authorization controls, and automated system and antivirus updates. I also invest in continuous learning opportunities. To this end, I am pursuing a Ph.D. in cybersecurity with a focus on Machine Learning and currently writing my dissertation on using Machine Learning to detect DDoS attacks in Software Defined Networks (SDN).
