As a board-certified emergency physician, I've dedicated my career to improving laceration management and empowering healthcare professionals through education. My journey began with a passion for continuous learning, which led me to emergency medicine—a field where effective wound care can make a significant impact on patient outcomes. Later in my career, I recognized a gap in comprehensive training resources for managing lacerations. That realization inspired me to create —a comprehensive online video series designed to provide clinicians with the knowledge and skills needed to manage lacerations confidently in acute care settings such as emergency departments, urgent care centers, and primary care practices. The is a deep dive into everything from wound assessment and anesthesia techniques to suturing methods and post-repair care. I built this course to offer practical insights by integrating real-world case presentations that demonstrate the medical decision-making process at each stage of treatment. I also incorporated important topics like billing, coding, and medico-legal considerations to ensure participants have a comprehensive understanding of laceration management. My partnership with EB Medicine has played a crucial role in expanding the reach of The Laceration Course. Their expertise in evidence-based medical education has allowed me to focus on creating high-quality content while leveraging their platform to connect with thousands of healthcare professionals seeking to improve their wound care skills. In 2024, The Abscess Course was released to help clinicians master this common clinical Beyond The Laceration Course, I'm actively involved in initiatives that foster professional growth and innovation in healthcare. Through the Healthcare Social Media Academy and my entrepreneurial platform, ShiftChange, I help clinicians develop their digital presence and navigate the early stages of launching new ventures. By sharing both my successes and failures, I aim to equip my colleagues with the tools they need to accelerate their own entrepreneurial journeys.
