About Patrick Oreilly

I am a software developer specialising in full stack web development, as I am passionate about using the web as a platform to drive engagement and maximize accessibility. For the past few years I have been lucky to be with Showtime Analytics as the company has grown from startup throught to being a significant player in the cinema industy. Prior to moving to the IT sector I had previously worked as part of an internal business intelligence unit in the financial services sector. My passion project for many years has been Dublin Bikes 2 Go, which started as an award winning webapp but has since evolved to live on smart speakers. It has been my test bed for innovation and experimentation and has also built up a sizeable social media community. Additionally, I have also created a number of open source browser extensions including QRBox, Traein and Speedie-Gram for Opera (once the 4th most popular speeddial extension for Opera) and FoxToPhone for Firefox (which CNet rated as 5/5). Most recently I have been ventured outside my current expertise by building a number of smartwatch applications for the Pebble platform and conducting experiments with other IOT embedded devices.
