Professional experiences include service for the White House, Fortune 500 companies, federal agencies, state agencies and a successful U.S. presidential campaign. Experiences include service as Special Assistant to the President of the United States, NASA Senior Advisor, Associate Administrator of the U. S. Small Business Administration, and Chief of Staff for two FEMA management administrations within the then-newly created United States Department of Homeland Security in the aftermath of 9/11, which included the awarding of high-level national security clearances. Additional roles include Deputy Director of National Advance Operations for a U. S. presidential campaign, Director of Homeland Security and Intelligence for an international consulting firm, and as a spokesperson for federal agencies, the White House and Fortune 500 companies. Earlier professional experiences include roles as an Associated Press award-winning television reporter with CBS and ABC TV affiliates. Professional experiences also include election as President of the Board of Directors of the American Road and Transportation Builders Association’s Public-Private Partnership Division, service on the Board of Directors of the Texas Association of Business, and service on standing committees of the American Legislative Exchange Council and National Council of State Legislators.
