About Patrick Rosa

I am currently a full-time, Business Teacher at Syosset High School and am responsible for developing curriculum for and teaching the Sports Marketing, Personal Finance, Introduction to Law, and College Virtual Enterprise courses. My educational background includes a BBA in Marketing as well as an MBA in Marketing from Hofstra University. In addition to that, I have my Advanced Certificate for Secondary Education from Hofstra University in the field of Business & Marketing. Prior to my career as an educator, I worked in Manhattan for an accounting firm as a Marketing CRM Associate, where I was responsible for building promotional campaigns and analyzing client data to make business decisions. Previously, I was a tenured Business Teacher at Smithtown High School West for eight and a half years. I have been a DECA Advisor for seven years, an advisor for the Smithtown West Investments Club for three years, and a facilitator for the Virtual Enterprise program for the past three years. I was fortunate to work with students who were nationally recognized for their work and provide real-world experiences to garner professionalism in every student involved. I was also very active in the school’s DECA program, as I served as the DECA Advisor for the past seven years. These responsibilities included organizing and coordinating the States Competition in Rochester, NY multiple times as well as ICDC in Orlando, FL and Anaheim, CA. The club has also provided me a sense of great pride to see the students grow from where they started to what they achieved. Whether they were selected to compete at ICDC or not, the growth I saw the students go through was an extremely rewarding experience. In June 2024, I graduated from Stony Brook University with a certification in School District Leadership & School Business Leadership. From January 2024 to June 2024, I completed my administrative internship in the Smithtown Central School District in the Career & Technical Education department and the Smithtown High School West building. I was able to create multiple programs to help increase teacher collaboration, including Open House Lessons, which served as a way to open classrooms to learn different styles of instruction. I also incorporated NewTeacher Chat, which focused on untenured teachers at Smithtown West, in mentoring them in the first few years of their careers. I am driven by a deep passion for creating enriching environments for students and colleagues to take risks to reach their full potential, blending analytical insight with creative execution to inspire growth.
