About Patrick Ryan

Pat serves as Associate General Counsel, Employment & Litigation at UCB, where he is responsible for handling the company's employment-related lawsuits, investigations, and counseling in the United States. Pat also manages other global employment matters and non-employment litigation, such as bankruptcy, product liability, and civil tort cases. He regularly supports UCB's Legal, Compliance, HR, and Communications teams, as well as U.S. and global business partners. Prior to this role, Pat was a partner at a national labor and employment firm where he specialized in defending employers in litigation, including class and collective actions, brought under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VII), the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and other federal and state employment laws; as well as representing employers in investigations brought by the U.S. Department of Labor or state agencies, including conducting internal investigations, defending "on-site" visits, and advising clients on effective resolution. During law school, Pat interned with the U.S. Attorney's office for the Southern District of Georgia. He was also an Editorial Board member of The Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law. Pat was selected as a member of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity’s 2018 class of Fellows, as well as being identified as a Super Lawyers' Rising Star while in private practice. He is licensed to practice law in Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina.
