Hello everyone, I'm Pat Sarnacki, I am an early-career mechanical engineer with a passion for product development, reliability engineering, and cutting-edge technology. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan, I have cultivated a solid academic foundation with hands-on experience across automotive, aerospace, and energy industries. As a Development Engineer Intern at Garrett Motion, I collaborate with global, cross-functional teams on high-performance automotive products, including fuel cells and e-turbos. I’m skilled in design verification, failure analysis, and maintaining stakeholder alignment on complex projects. My technical proficiency spans CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA), programming languages (C++, Python), and engineering tools (LabView, MATLAB, Simulink). In addition to my engineering expertise, I am a licensed helicopter pilot and flight instructor at White Pine Helicopters. This experience has honed my problem-solving abilities and technical communication, while ensuring safety in high-pressure environments. I am also an active contributor to the Formula SAE Electric Race Team as the Lead Powertrain Engineer, driving innovation in electric vehicle design and performance. My team is focused on reducing vehicle weight, improving torque, and optimizing energy efficiency to push the boundaries of electric racing. My ultimate aspiration is to make significant contributions to the future as an engineer, leveraging my diverse experiences and knowledge to drive innovation and positive change.
