About Patrick Schlund

Currently I am a fourth year student at Cleveland State University, majoring in Civil Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. Going into my fourth year at college, my work experience is limited, but I believe it has been helpful to my growth so far. I am currently an assistant soccer coach at Nordonia High School, where I help train both the varsity and junior varsity teams. I also have a position at Washkewicz College of Engineering at Cleveland State University, where I give tours of the campus to prospective students, as well as help to open the minds of elementary and middle school students, attempting to get them interested in engineering. I previously completed an internship at Bowden Manufacturing in Willoughby, Ohio. Here, I served as a CNC machinist as well as a part of the quality assurance team. I assisted them in ensuring that the products being made and shipped were within their tolerances, sometimes to within less than one thousandth of an inch. I worked at Ultimate Escape Challenge in Broadview for a little over a year and a half, from December 2015 until August 2017. During this time, I was a game master. This meant I managed and monitored game rooms, and I reset the rooms in a timely manner before the next group arrived. I did this for the entirety of my time. Starting in May 2017, I became an assistant manager meaning that I now answered phone calls, handled customer service (questions, complaints, future bookings, etc), called in staff for the day, opened and closed the store most days, and solved problems that occurred throughout the day. This really helped increase my management skills. As a whole, this job helped me to become better at speaking to large groups, managing my time, and working with other people.
