About Patrick Souza

I'm Patrick Souza, a professional dedicated to data science and technological innovation. With a strong background in Control and Automation Engineering from UTFPR, I sought to broaden my horizons with specializations in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. My journey began as a Researcher in Artificial Intelligence at Robert Bosch, where I actively contributed to innovative projects, developing and implementing predictive models for industrial processes. I also had the privilege of sharing knowledge in Machine Learning and Computer Vision by assisting in the development of technical training courses. Currently, I serve as a Data Scientist, applying my expertise in Artificial Intelligence solutions. My skills range from classic Computer Vision algorithms to advanced Deep Learning approaches for image and video classification, detection, and segmentation. In the field of computer vision, I have been involved in projects that encompass the entire lifecycle of an AI application, from data collection to fine-tuning models and deployment in production. Furthermore, I have participated in projects employing Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques and models, focusing on research and Q&A on technical documents. I have used modern frameworks like Langchain and APIs like OpenAI, as well as open-source alternatives from Huggingface. Among my achievements in NLP, I highlight the construction of systems using RAG (retrieval augmented generation) for document searches, integrating interactions with databases vectorially and lexically (ElasticSearch/OpenSearch). My technical skills also include full-stack web development, using technologies like Python (FastAPI/Flask/Django) and JavaScript (React/NodeJS). I have experience in implementing CI/CD/CT pipelines with Azure Machine Learning and Azure DevOps, as well as developing dashboards using PowerBI and Tableau. I am always seeking new challenges and opportunities to apply my knowledge and skills.
