About Patrick Tuohy

I didn’t plan on building a career in gold as my background was in finance, dealing with hedge funds, private equity, asset management and real estate. I spent over 40 years in the structured world of financial services, institutional investors, and family offices across Asia and beyond. It was fast-paced, relationship-driven, and demanding, but familiar. Then, in 2015, I was wrapped up in a gold transaction that went completely sideways. It was one of those “welcome to the jungle” moments that teach you more than a decade in a boardroom. That experience introduced me to the reality of the bullion world: high stakes, opaque systems, and enormous potential for reinvention. That moment also introduced me to Nick Drapac, an Australian precious metals trader with a rare mix of vision and execution. In 2020, I joined Nick to help build what has become Goldstrom Group, a full-service precious metals trading and investment company designed to transform the mine-to-market journey We do more than just sell metal. We offer a complete ecosystem, from sourcing and refining to credit, leasing, and institutional portfolio integration. We’re bridging the gap between precious metals as a static store of value and gold as a dynamic financial tool. My focus is commercial strategy, sales leadership, and storytelling. I work closely with wealth advisors, external asset managers, multi-family offices, and institutional partners to help them integrate physical precious metals into their clients’ portfolios in a modern, efficient, and strategic way. I also lead the development of our Corporate Finance function, helping connect our producing partners (miners, aggregators, and refiners) to international funding sources so they can scale responsibly. Not only does our product suite and posture set us apart, but here at Goldstrom, we thrive on being a catalyst in making an impact. I value trust above all else, and I believe in doing things properly, building relationships for the long haul, and leaving things better than I found them. Based in Singapore, working globally, and still excited by big conversations that challenge old assumptions. Gold is an ancient asset. But how do we use it?
