About Patrick Walker

I have dedicated my life to supporting and leading educational and political reform efforts to improve the lives of others. As a college lecturer, publisher, campaign director, and mayoral education consultant, I worked to promote positive social change in Boston between 1977 and 2002, including representing Mayor Menino during four Boston Teacher Union contract negotiations. I then developed educational curriculum and a comprehensive school reform model that integrate the teaching of core social and democratic competencies into language and literacy instruction and throughout the school culture. This included developing five different Voices curricula which have been purchased by over schools. In the future, I am interested in working with other similarly minded individuals and organizations to assure that these kind of transformative educational practices reach those students living in the poorest neighborhoods in our country and around the world. My current focus is on developing "Lift Every Voice" which will provide free digital educational materials to young people which can help them to lift their voices to advocate for a more compassionate, just, and free society.
