About Patrick Walsh

I am a seasoned executive with a diverse background spanning leadership in global businesses, strategy development, and transformative organizational change. Most recently, I was appointed to the board of Mercycare in February 2022, a leading not-for-profit provider offering essential services in aged care, early learning, disability support, and family/community services. In December 2023, I was honoured to be elected Chairman of Mercycare, a role in which I am committed to driving strategic growth and innovation while ensuring the organization continues to deliver high-quality services to those in need. Since July 2022, I have also served as Executive Chairman of Ryans Quality Meats, a well-established leader in the Australian meat industry, where I am focused on enhancing operational efficiency and developing sustainable growth strategies. Prior to these roles, I was CEO of the Craig Mostyn Group (CMG), a prominent Australian food and agribusiness company with a turnover of over $400M. During my tenure (Jul 2017 - Feb 2022), I led CMG to achieve significant milestones, including expanding operations in the pork, seafood, and rendering sectors. I also played a pivotal role in overseeing Linley Valley Pork, WA’s only export pork abattoir, and Talloman, the state’s sole service rendering plant. In addition, I held the position of Chairman of V and V Walsh, a leading beef and lamb abattoir based in WA. Before my appointment as CEO, I was a Director of CMG from 2011 to 2017, during which I also served as Managing Director of a Brisbane-based consulting firm specializing in strategy, process improvement, document control, and mentorship. Earlier in my career, I was Managing Director at Allight, a Perth-based manufacturer and distributor of mobile lighting towers, pumps, and generators for the mining, hire, and construction industries. I also spent four years building and operating a UK consultancy focused on lean manufacturing, quality systems, and HR management. My first international experience included a six-year tenure as Director at a multinational machine tool manufacturing organization in the UK, where I was responsible for operations, quality control, health and safety, and HR management. I hold an MBA from Warwick University (UK) and am passionate about driving sustainable growth, fostering innovation, and delivering strategic value in all areas of my professional life.
