About Patrizia Berto

My current position is Sr Director Head of P&R at PharmaLex, with 27 years experience in consulting, having developed and supported multiple strategic market access, P&R and HEOR consulting projects for pipeline, launch and marketed products across a vast array of therapy areas, spanning from rare diseases to oncology, haematology and many others. Previous experiences include: Principal in the Strategic Partnership Europe team @AESARA (2023); SVP Value & Access at Regulatory Pharma Net (2020-2022), Head of Italian Office at Certara (2018-2020), Global Head of Business Development at LA-SER/Laser-Analytica (2012-2018) and Managing Director of PBE consulting (1997 – 2011). Prior to that, I spent ten years at Glaxo/GSK in market research, strategic planning, pricing and health economics. I was also a lecturer (contract professor) of pharmaco-economics at the School of Pharmacy – University of Padova from 2001-2013 and I am currently a Director of the Italian (Rome) Chapter of ISPOR (2021-2023). I have extensive knowledge of the healthcare and pharmaceutical policy in the Italian NHS, along with a deep understanding of the European health-economic and Pricing & Reimbursement arena, which was developed through an impressive number of International projects conducted in close collaboration with a variety of International agencies, clients and other consulting companies and networks. Along the years I authored many papers, published both in Italian and international journals, co-author of books on the application of pharmaco-economics to clinical oncology and to MDS, and more recently on the application of HTA to local decision making processes. I join as a member various scientific societies: ISPOR (International Society of Pharmacoeconomics & Outcome Research); SIF (Italian Society of Pharmacology); SIFO (Italian Society of Hospital Pharmacy); AIES (Italian Association of Health Economics); SiHTA and HTAi (Health Technology Assessment Italian and International Society).
