About Patti Jachowicz

I am passionate about connecting students of all ages and backgrounds with opportunity for career and personal growth through education. I have a strong record of delivering excellent student centered academic, career, and personal counseling that empowers students to identify purpose, goals and create an achievable plan for positive change. Helping individuals, particularly the adult learner and first year student, navigate through career/personal/ life transitions has been my professional focus for many years. My intense interest in advancing international education in higher education began when I became the designated counselor for international students at Elgin Community College. What a gift! This led to scholarly endeavors related to cultural understanding, international travel, collaboration with ESL programs, study abroad advising and a leadership role on the college's global/international studies task force. Teaching career development is another joyful aspect of my life's work. Helping individuals learn and understand the career planning process to move toward re-imagined aspirations is thrilling. Most of all, I love to learn and will never stop! I look forward to offering my expertise to a worthy professional opportunity and to continuously developing new skills.
