About Paul Alder

PAST - With Vistafolia, I took on the challenge of improving on nature – creating a replica green wall system that looks as real as a living wall, only better. I have over 25 years of experience as a horticulturist and garden designer, building gardens to award-winning standards. In 1987, I set up a landscaping company that has gone on to become one of the leading players in the business today, with a staff of 60 and over 20 national awards, including from the prestigious RHS Chelsea Flower Show- PRESENT - Over 25 years of experience of building outstanding, prestige gardens has made me a close, passionate observer of the ways that plants and foliage please and uplift us. I have used this extensive horticultural and design knowledge to offer a simple, flexible and attractive approach to practical urban greening. Since launching, Vistafolia has become the number one artificial vertical garden solution - The gold standard! Extensive product development and research is in my DNA. The past 7 years have been devoted to attacking the many technical and aesthetic issues involved in simplifying the nature's complexity. I have spent countless hours creating an attractive range of plants that mimic the look and movement of living foliage, and developing a solution for removing horizontal and vertical lines on green walls, for beautiful, seamless coverage. I have also worked with engineers on the Vistafolia UV technology and fire retardancy, and I am continuously seeking innovation opportunities to consolidate our market leadership- FUTURE - In 2020 we began our most ambitious project yet, as we looked at ways in which we could tackle the issue of sustainability. Working in conjunction with Surrey University, and with backing from the UK government, we are currently well into a project, designed to develop a bio-based polymer with which we can manufacture our products, minimising environmental impact, and reaffirming our mission statement - to be the leaders in the field, and pushing the boundaries of what we can do. On top of this, I'm really excited to bringing our new Foliascreen to the market. Having spent many years closely studying the market, I saw a gap for a modular solution for dividing spaces that combines the excitement of Vistafolia's panels with striking design, versatile functionality, and the ability to heighten the sense of wellbeing in your environment.
